Kylie Minogue makes history. She will be the first woman ever to receive the Music Industry Trust award. The pop dive will be acknowledged for her contribution to the music industry in general and will join previous receivers of the award like George Martin and Elton John. As you could expect she felt honored and said:
“It is an incredible honour to be the recipient of this year’s award and I am truly thrilled to be recognized in this way.”
Mr. David Munn, the chairman of the Awards Committee declared:
“Kylie deserves this award for her success over 20 years, staying at the top in one of the toughest professions and inspiring millions with her grace, dignity and humanity.”
Minogue’s life has surely been an inspiration for many. She dealt with all the problems and can be considered an icon in the music industry. Soon she will launch a new album and reports say that 10 of her demo tracks have already leaked on the Internet.
