Australian pop diva Kylie Minogue will join the cast of British science-fiction TV drama Doctor Who for a special Christmas episode, the BBC said on Tuesday. The hour-long episode, Voyage of the Damned, will start filming in Cardiff, Wales, in July. “It is an incredible thrill to be joining David and the entire Dr Who production for this year’s Christmas special,” said Minogue. “Dr Who enjoys a unique history and it is going to be very exciting to be a part of that.” Former television soap opera star Minogue returned to the stage last November with a sell out concert in Sydney after recovering from breast cancer. She is a really brave woman to have fought breast cancer successfully and then resume her singing career which is one of the most successful singing careers ever by a female artist. Her songs and the music in it has for long mesmerised her fans.

Actress Reese Witherspoon has had a classy new designer handbag named after her. Bag lady Mary Norton was looking for a tag for a new clutch accessory when she saw the “elegant” Legally Blonde star on the red carpet at an awards show. The designer says, “It (bag) has a clean, classic look. It made me think of Reese, who is a down-to-earth mom and an elegant woman.” The new leather bag, which features a jeweled clasp, can be bought at Norton’s Los Angeles store for around $1,000. A 1000 dollar designer bag is only meant for people who drive in chauffeur driven cars and do not need to worry even if the bag gets stolen with it being empty inside or being spoilt in the rains. The blonde actress can have her name printed on quite a few designer bags but the stuff is not made for the ordinary person whose household budget is a 1000 dollars a month or so.
