Lily Allen has been dumped just weeks after suffering a miscarriage. Chemical Brother Ed Simons and the ‘Smile’ singer had been dating a little over a month before Lily discovered she was pregnant. However after the devastating miscarriage at the New Year, the five-month relationship hit the rocks as the pair battled their grief.

A $6000 a-night holiday in the Maldives did little to fix the problem and after a series of bitter rows, Ed told Lily, “It’s over”.

A pal of Lily’s confirmed: “They tried to make things work but couldn’t. The miscarriage was a horrible experience for both of them – and in recent weeks the mood between them had been really strained. Lily is really upset things haven’t worked out for her and Ed. She had talked about settling down for good and having a family. But there is a big age difference and the heartbreak they had to cope with was too much too early in their relationship.”

Poor Lily. I just want to give the girl a big hug. Let’s hope the coming year brings her better fortune…

Seems we aren’t the only ones who think Sam Lufti is a creep and that Brit needs to stay far, far away from him. Rumor has it he was seeking legal advice to find out how to become Britney’s power of attorney. Such a move would give him control over every facet of her life, including finances.

But it won’t be so easy now. Jamie and Lynne Spears, Britney’s parents, have gone to court to seek conservatorship over Britney while she remains under treatment and evaluation. They want Sam Lufti kept away from her, and they have even gone so far as to have the locks on her home changed so he can no longer stay there. A family insider says, “They want him out of her life completely.”
