It was recently reported that Carrie Underwood and Chace Crawford broke up but there’s no need to feel sorry for Carrie. The American Idol alum apparently broke up with the ‘Gossip Girl’ hunk via text message! The 25-year old singer told Extra that “It was completely mutual. We’re both fine…We broke up over text so…It’s like ‘peace out.’ It just didn’t work…And we both knew it didn’t work and no hard feelings at all whatsoever… I haven’t talked to him in awhile but, I mean, I don’t dislike him… So it’s no big deal. It’s difficult while you’re dating because people always make a lot bigger deal of things than they actually are… And then when you break up with somebody and then like two months later it comes out and it’s like you’re rehashing old stuff… I don’t know why that’s all out now.”

Not that a lot of people would actually care but I’d still like to say that Avril Lavigne’s music video for the song ‘The Best Damn Thing’ has finally arrived. The song is the fourth single off of the album of the same name and is due for release on April 17, Thursday. The video is nothing revolutionary or noteworthy – it’s just plain fun. In Canada, it’s currently the most viewed, discussed, favorite-d and top rated music video of the day. Maybe it’s because of the pink wig. They thought it was a Britney Spears music video instead of an Avril video.

Kate Moss has reportedly splashed out $160,000 on her own wedding ring.

The supermodel – who is believed to have got engaged to rocker lover Jamie Hince in Paris, France, last month – has treated herself to a diamond and platinum band based on the Egyptian symbol of long life from exclusive London jewellers Garrard.

A source said: ‘Kate is the main breadwinner in this relationship and has paid for her own ring. She went to Garrard and looked at its selection and a ‘ring visitor’ went to her home to show her designs. She wants the wedding plans tied up by May 1.’

The couple, who have been dating since last August, are said to be planning a summer ceremony. Last week, it was revealed Kate – who has a five-year-old daughter Lila with ex-boyfriend Jefferson Hack – accepted The Kills guitarist’s marriage proposal after he agreed to start a family.

A source said: ‘Jamie is besotted with Kate and desperately wanted her to become his wife. He realised he needed to show his commitment and spell out how he saw their future.”

Italian property developer Raffaelo Follieri, also Anne Hathaway’s boyfriend for over four years, was arrested Thursday for trying to pass a bad check. The amount of the check has been reported at around $250,000.

He has had a run of bad luck lately. He recently has been sued for failing to properly use business funds and not wanting to pay a PR company.

Anne, however, sings his praises. She says, “He’s brought out so many positive attributes. Before I met him, I wasted so much time. I was just annoying and narcissistic and smelled bad. He’s protective without being possessive, passionate without needing to show his temper.”

He returned to American Idol after a hospitalization scare. David Cook was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center Tuesday night after he performed Dolly Parton’s “Little Sparrow”.
David was suffering from heart palpitations and high blood pressure. On Wednesday’s results show, he showed no problems at all. He tells host Ryan Seacrest, “The whole thing kind of got blown out of proportion. I have high blood pressure, and it spiked, so they took me to the nearest hospital. But I’m cool. I’m not going anywhere.”

And he didn’t this week.

Madonna will be at Cannes this year to co-host Harvey Weinstein’s annual ‘Cinema Against AIDS’ gala with Sharon Stone. Seal is scheduled to perform at the gala. Hosting duty isn’t the only thing Madonna will be doing at Cannes though. On the night prior to the gala, the Queen of Pop’s documentary ‘Because We Are’ will be shown at the film festival. Madonna produced the documentary which was directed by Nathan Rissman. The film profiles children orphaned by AIDS in Malawi. I wonder if her hubby Guy Ritchie will show up with her to the event. He’s been so camera shy lately.

Hearts of little girls all over the world are sure to break if this piece of news happens to be true and that they’re not just friends. After having a nice bike ride with his younger brothers, Joe Jonas of the Jonas Brothers was spotted holding hands with Chelsea Staub during a shopping spree around Third Street Promenade in Santa Monica, California on Sunday. The would-be couple shared a bag of chips. 19-year old Chelsea was in the family comedy ‘Bratz’ and coincidentally, will soon be co-starring in ‘J.O.N.A.S.’ – the new TV series which will star the Jonas Brothers. A little love shared between co-stars perhaps?

Rihanna showed up to the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards which was held in Los Angeles this past Saturday looking a little less than perfect. She’s slipping down on her style icon status again. Her stylists dressed her up in a fitting top and a loose-fitting pair of skinny jeans. It sounds redundant but that’s the only way I could describe her pants. But who cares anyway? It’s Rihanna! But it must have been awkward walking down that red carpet for the new Princess of Pop. Both the Barbadian singer’s current flame, Chris Brown, and rumored ex-boyfriend, , were also there.
