Ashlee Simpson goes back to being her natural blonde self after leaving a hair salong in West Hollywood recently. USA Weekend recently spoke to her hubby Pete Wentz about being a new father to his son Bronx. He talked about reading to his son saying “Growing up, my parents OD’d me on the library, and I was pretty loaded up when it came to children’s books. I definitely can’t wait to read some of my favorites, like ‘Goodnight Moons,’ ‘The Little Prince”’and the ‘Mr. Men and Little Miss’ books. I know that we already picked up the 50th anniversary copy of ‘Paddington Bear,’ which is a great one.”

Backstreet Boy Brian Littrell spent the holiday in the hospital as he took care of his six-year old son. The singer recently posted an announcement on his website regarding the situation saying “Baylee LIttrell has been in the hospital for the past few days. He will be starting a treatment this afternoon.” However, he didn’t specify the nature of his son’s illness. Brian himself was reportedly born with a small hole in his heart which he had surgically repaired. The signer also runs a charity called Brian Littrell’s Healthy Heart Club to help children with heart problems. I hope Baylee recovers quickly.

I’m confused – is Lily Allen in London or in Hawaii? The British songstress was spotted in the UK capital last week dressed like that. She’s got gloves, denim shorts, fishnet tights, Uggs and a homemade Chanel shirt. I’m pretty sure she can get sued over that last one. Even Malibu is too cold for fashion mishaps like this. Uggs are already a no-no but Uggs and shorts together are a one way ticket to fashion jail. And where did that shirt come from? She could have at least put something witty on it. On the other hand, her legs do look fabulous! If only the rest of her were too.

You know what? I get that reality shows are sellable shows, but really, shouldn’t be they making new shows instead of reinventing the same old ideas.

This time around, the show is about Whitney Port trying to bring something “unique” to the New York fashion scene.

Which is so unlikely.

But MTV is making a reality TV show of it anyway!

Whitney is set to star in her own spin off in New York City which will feature her venture into the fashion world.

She named the line Whitney Eve because “like, I wanted my name to be part of the line, and I didn’t want to let my job situation tell the story for me, but at the same time, I wanted to put my brand on it,” she tells Nylon. “So I figured my first and middle name, if I did that, it would be personal enough without being so connected to what people think they know about me.”

So intense. Really.

Madonna’s ex and Lola’s dad, Carlos Leon, is speaking out to Hello! Magazine about the Queen of Pop’s recent split. The 42-year old actor says “It is a bad situation for both Guy Ritchie and Madonna and I send them a lot of love and all the children involved. I think it is too early to say if the divorce will make things better or worse for the family.” Carlos also happens to think that Guy is great saying that he “is the gent. He always treats me with respect. Of the film work of the two, I like Ritchie better. He is incredibly talented as a director and producer and he inspires me.” Carlos also talks about his daughter saying “I speak to her every day. She is very talented, she gets that from her mum. She has had advantages I never had. But it is up to her to take it to a new level in singing or acting.”

Is them, FAKING THE MARRIAGE!!

In a teaser for the fourth season of The Hills, Heidi and Spencer are shown in a courtroom legalizing their marriage after eloping in Mexico. Except not really because the whole thing was staged by MTV:

A Los Angeles Superior Court official said Tuesday that MTV was recently granted permission to shoot in a courtroom in Beverly Hills, but it was done after hours – and that’s not one of their judges sitting on the bench in “The Hills” footage.
MTV was granted permission to film “what purported to be a wedding outside of court hours” at the Beverly Hills courthouse, court spokesman Allan Parachini said Tuesday. He did not know who the participants were in the wedding, but Parachini said court officials wanted the filming to be treated as a news event.
The preview for next week’s season finale features a wood-paneled courtroom with the California state seal perched on the wall behind a judge. Civil ceremonies are sometimes performed at the Beverly Hills courthouse, but not in the manner portrayed in the brief preview. If a judge does preside, it is typically in chambers during a break, Parachini said.

I say they should soon take all the money they can, because soon enough they will run our of gimmicks and be part of the obscure elite that once was semi-famous.

The holidays may be a time for rejoicing for most people but not for the family of Macaulay Culkin who has recently been faced with the tragic death of a family member. Culkin’s 29-year old sister Dakota died after she got hit by a car last December 9.

Aside from Macaulay, his brothers Kieran and Rory are also heartbroken about their sister’s death. The brothers got news of their sister’s accident and death while working on separate projects. The 26-year old Kieran was shooting the movie Paper Man, 19-year old Rory was busy promoting the movie “Lymelife” while 28-year old Macaulay was busy shooting “Kings” for NBC. However, the three is taking some time off to deal with their tragedy.

The Culkin brood also includes two brothers—32-year old Shane and 21-year old Christian and another sister–24-year old Quinn. It was not clear what really happened but sketchy reports show that Dakota stepped into a street and was hit by a car which led to severe head injuries and later on her death. Investigators have already looked into the possibility that the car owner may have broken some laws but to no avail.

She may look pregnant but do not be fooled by Avril Lavigne’s physical appearance. She’s acutally just fat. The weight gain is most likely because she’s finished her disaster of a tour and not doing much of anything. You know, there’s nothing wrong with going on a jog for even just thirty minutes a day. Also, unlike Mariah Carey who is also dealing with pregnancy rumors, the Canadian wannabe rocker was seen partying it up at Tao in Las Vegas this past weekend and it was pretty obvious to witnesses that she was drinking. Thank heavens! Avril as a mom sounds like the most dreadful idea to me.

Pedestrians be warned. Now that Miley Cyrus has turned 16 years old, she has received her learner’s permit. Hopefully, she can avoid the next Hollywood starlet rite of passage – getting a DUI, or even worse, crashing so many times. But then again, this is Miley we’re talking about. She may have gone through that rite of passage by the time she turns 17. Here’s to hoping that she doesn’t pass the exam to get an actual driver’s license. There should really be a tougher diver’s licensure exam for Hollywood starlets. It will be a great service to the rest of the community if that is implemented.

American Idol champ David Cook gets into the holiday spirit with a reindeer-inspired Pluto last week in the Magic Kingdom in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. The 25-year old singer recorded a segment for the ‘Walt Disney World Christmas Day Parade’ and put his rocker spin on a holiday classic ‘Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas’. He also sang that song when he performed at the 2008 Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony in Rockefeller Center. After he was done, he took questions from the audience and even played peek-a-boo with some kids who were in the first row. The Disney Christmas Day Parade will air nationwide at 10AM to 12NN ET on Christmas Day, December 25 on ABC.

Taylor Swift appeared and performed on last Friday’s episode of ‘The Tonight Show with Jay Leno’. The almost 19-year old country singing superstar sang her hit song ‘White Horse’ and told a great story about being raised on a Christmas Tree farm. Taylor said “Yes! I did [grow up on a Christmas Tree farm], so this is a good season for me. I was too young to help with the hauling of the trees up the hills and putting them onto cars. So, it was my job to pull off the preying mantis pods off of the Christmas trees. The problem with that is if you leave them on there, people bring them into their house. I forgot to check one time and they hatched all over these people’s house. And there were hundreds of thousands of them. And they had little kids, and they couldn’t kill of them because that’d be a bad Christmas.”

could this be true? insiders are saying that there is a spinoff in the works.

And that the show may use an episode as a litmus test to see whether or not to proceed with said spinoff.

A GG spinoff has been running the rumor mill for quite some time now, as the popular book series on which the program is based has its own published spinoff called The It Girl.

however, the spin off will NOT be based on The It Girl nor its main character, Taylor Momsen’ Jenny Humphrey.

They are claiming that it would be focusing on of the book’s one of the nine recurring characters.

The spinoff is in its earliest stages of development, but may be expedited since the CW dropped its Smallville companion, The Graysons.

I was pretty surprised when Lily Allen had nothing but nice things to say about Britney Spears’ performance in London but not everyone shares the love. Take That took some nasty digs at the recovered pop princess through the UK press. Gary Barlow said “I don’t see the point of Britney anymore, she was rubbish on the show. I think she’s more famous than she deserves to be now…Why come on a show like that and mime? I don’t like her new song either. Her old stuff was great but maybe she should have spent more time on this one.” Maybe the band just can’t take that Britney’s album has the same name as their album and also came out the same day.

Taylor Swift recently admitted to CMT that she reads gossip sites to “see what’s going on with celebrities. I like to have things to talk about. It’s not like you can just make movies and sing songs and people aren’t going to want to know who you’re dating and where you’re eating. I’m curious about that too. I’ll admit that.” She also mentioned how she doesn’t pay attention to haters saying “I just try to ignore the ‘I hate her, she’s ugly’ ones. When people can be anonymous, they’re vicious and it’s like the sixth grade stuff like on crack. It’s terrible.”

In the new December issue of DETAILS magazine (the one with my favorite gossip boys on the cover), Pete Wentz opens up a bit more about his life and druggy past.
He says that when he found out that he was going to be a father that he “was definitely scared, just thinking, This is something that’s going to exist for the rest of your life and you can’t fuck it up”. He also says that it “was a happy accident” and that it happened “for a reason in your life”.
The interview also said that as he grew up, he suffered from severe panic attacks and drug use/abuse became more frequent.
He shares that he started taking pills which were “zombifying, you’re, like, drooling. For a while, I was a total drugstore cowboy. I had The Pill Book, which is awesome because I could learn every shape and number, and then be like, ‘Those are the blue footballs, those are the bars …’”
Scary! He even said that he even overdosed one time while parked outside a Best Buy and was finally persuaded by family and friends to go to the emergency room.
Good thing he learned to quit it and hopefully become a good father.

Everyone’s favorite wizard Harry Potter has grown into a young adult and this is reflected in the trailer of the latest Harry Potter movie where he is seen in slightly adult scenes like kissing his friend Ron’s sister Ginny for example. But did they or didn’t they? Harry Potter fans are excited to see the movie to find out if the trailer is just a teaser or if Harry really gets to kiss Ginny in the movie.

The 6th installment of the Harry Potter movie shows the 19-year old Daniel Radcliffe as he tries to hurdle the biggest challenge of his life at Hogwarts as his arch enemy Lord Voldemort successfully recruits his rival Draco Malfoy to fight Harry. Aptly title “Harry Potter and the Halfblood Prince”, the latest in the Harry Potter series promises to be as exciting, if not more exciting than the rest of the series.

The trailer of the new Harry Potter flick is already making its rounds in the Internet as well as in US TV shows but the whole movie will be seen in the United States and the United Kingdom by July 2009. Don’t expect to see the old boyish Harry though as the wizard has been transformed from a shy boy just learning his powers to a ladies man. The new movie stars Rupert Grint as Ron Weasley, Emma Watson as Hermione Granger and Evanna Lynch as Luna Lovegood. You can also expect to see old favorites like Julie Walters and Helena Bonham Carter.

Radcliffe is presently busy with EQUUS, a Broadway production which can be seen on a limited engagement from September 5 to February 8, 2009. Well, just in time for the release of the much-awaited Harry Potter movie.
