As confirmed by his representative Samantha Mast, John Travolta will not make an appearance in this year’s Golden Globe. Travolta, his wife Kelly Preston and the whole family are still in mourning after the untimely and tragic death of his 16-year old son Jett while they were vacationing in the Bahamas last January 2. A memorial service has been conducted for Jett at Ocala, Florida last Thursday. Among those who were there are Kirstie Alley, Lisa Marie Presley, Forest Whitaker, James Gandoldfini, Trisha Yearwood and Garth Brooks. Travolta’s appearance in the Awards ceremony was expected considering that his movie “Bolt” was nominated for Best Animated Feature. His duet with Miley Cyrus “I Thought I Lost You” was also nominated for Best Original Song.

The family has confirmed that Jett has been suffering from seizures and this was identified as the cause of his death. An autopsy was conducted to rule out foul play in his death. The Travolta and their friends said Jett was continuously supervised by two nannies who slept near his room. The boy was in the bathroom when he was found by Travolta. miley-cyrus-john-travolta
