Amanda Bynes is set to star in a new high-school comedy called Easy A.

The 23-year-old actress found fame on the Nickelodeon sitcom The Amanda Show.

She will play a high school student who is subject to a false rumour she lost her virginity but she turns the rumour around to her advantage and becomes hugely popular.

Amanda is set to star in the comedy directed by Will Gluck and she is then lined up to star in a second project with Screen Gems president Clint Culpepper.

Culpepper said he has been looking to work with Amanda for some time and added: “She’s one of the few who can make that graceful transition from kid to adult star because she has such strong comic chops.”

Despite my constant wishing, Miley Cyrus won’t be disappearing from the glare of the Hollywood spotlight any time soon. The people over at the Disney Channel have just put in the order for a fourth season of ‘Hannah Montana’ which is set to begin filming in early 2010. The Mouse House has released a statement about what’s going to happen on the new season saying “Miley and the producers have proposed a change of setting for Season Four that will provide the catalyst for wonderful new characters and further expand the storytelling opportunities.” Well that sucks. We all have to tolerate her longer.
