Twilight actress Ashley Greene has been given advice on being a correspondent for the MTV Video Music Awards from singer Taylor Swift.

Last year Swift was the fashion correspondent for the VMAs and this year Greene, 22, is set to follow in the star’s footsteps.

Swift advises the actress, who plays Alice Cullen in Twilight, that “you have to think on your toes”.

When asked about what qualities a good correspondent should have, the Love Story singer told MTV News: “[It should be] someone who really likes talking to people and who has really great style.”

She added: “I think that my tips as far as being a fashion correspondent are: don’t rehearse, because … they’ll be like, ‘Alright, well, here are all the people coming to the VMAs, here are the people that are gonna show up on the red carpet.”
