Contestants on the X-Factor must observe a Twitter ban.
As the show’s tension heightens, bosses of the X-Factor are concerned over tweets that give away show secrets.
The move follows similar attempts in Hollywood by some studios to clamp down on celebrity tweeting – and to write the requirement into acting contracts.
X-Factor contestants, meanwhile, will be allowed to post their tweets to an official X-Factor Twitter site. Some samples from the site include, Stacey Soloman (pictured): “I’m cooking sausage and mash mmm! Could be a disaster. So excited to see my costume!” and Danyl Johnson: “In the house watching telly and relaxing …”
Lloyd Daniels, meanwhile, wrote: “Hey everyone, can’t believe the time! Today’s flown past so quickly. Thinking of the amazing support. Thanks so much.”
