16 Frames’ new album, Where It Ends! The Los Angeles based band teamed up with producer Matt Serletic (Matchbox 20, Santana) for their major label debut. Tracks from Where It Ends have been featured on MTV’s The Hills and recently appeared in the promos for ABC’s Private Practice.
Steve, Josh and Dylan from the band sat down to talk about their favorite songs on the album and how everyone needs to learn all the words to sing along on their upcoming tour. Head over to iTunes to grab Where It Ends featuring the single “Back Again” today.
Singer-songwriter Kate Voegele is gearing up for the May release of A Fine Mess, the highly anticipated follow-up to her 2008 debut album, Don’t Look Away (MySpace/Interscope). Voegele recorded the album in Los Angeles with producer Mike Elizondo, Rihanna, Maroon 5, Pink.
The 22-year-old has been racking up frequent flier miles of late, jetting back and forth between L.A. and Wilmington, North Carolina, where she’s also shooting new episodes of the CW Network’s hit TV series “One Tree Hill.” This season sees Voegele reprising her role as singer-songwriter Mia. She made headlines last year by performing several songs on the show, all from Don’t Look Away.
In their year-end issue, Billboard magazine spotlighted the 10 biggest film and television placement/appearances of 2008 and put Voegele’s involvement with “One Tree Hill” at No. 1. Wrote Billboard Sr. Editor Ann Donohue, “There’s getting a song placed in a prime-time show and then there’s getting cast in that show to play your own music and have the show’s creator write storylines for you inspired by your songs. Such was the case for Kate Voegele…”.
The new season of “One Tree Hill” will see Voegele giving audiences sneak previews of songs from the upcoming album, beginning with the March 16th episode, when she will premiere a brand-new track titled “Manhattan From The Sky.”
Voegele, hailed by Entertainment Weekly for being among the best of “the new golden age of female singer-songwriters,” spent the majority of 2008 touring in support of debut album Don’t Look Away, the record that earned her “Artist To Watch In ‘08” accolades from Billboard. Over the course of the year, she shared stages with Natasha Bedingfield, The Veronicas, Ben Lee, Cary Brothers and launched her own headlining tour.
Voegele performed on “Live with Regis and Kelly” and CBS’ “The Early Show,” and also appeared on “TRL” and Fuse-TV’s “The Sauce.” She recently gave a special acoustic performance on the ABC-TV’s “The Bachelor.” She’s also been featured on the cover of USA Today’s “Life” section and appeared in the pages of People, CosmoGirl, TV Guide and Giant, to name but a few.
Check out Kate’s latest video blog to sneak a peek inside the studio while she works on the new album.

Becoming a parent can make you do a lot of crazy things. Just ask Pete Wentz. In a new interview, the Fall Out Boy bassist revealed that he has a kids album in the works. He said “To get our son to sleep we play him Bob Dylan’s You Belong To Me. Or a little Sinatra. My boy’s probably the last person in the world to appreciate my singing voice. Although I wrote a lullaby especially for him – you’ll find it on our new album if you look hard enough – it’s a hidden track…We had so much fun doing it I’m going to put out an album of songs for children.”
Hana Pestle is a self-proclaimed Twilight fanatic. The nineteen year old singer/songwriter from Billings, Montana believes she has the perfect song for the next movie and has started a movement to get “Need” in the forthcoming New Moon. The hauntingly beautiful track was one of her first compositions written at only fifteen years old in 2004. It was produced /co-written for her album by Ben Moody (co-founder of Evanescence) and Michael “Fish” Herring with string arrangements by David Campbell and piano performance by David Hodges (Kelly Clarkson, Daughtry). Check out the “Need for New Moon” page to learn more about the mission and watch a personal video message from Hana.
Hana’s E.P. is available now and her debut, full-length album is due out in July.

Demi Lovato’s album cover for her debut album ‘Don’t Forget’ has been released. I like it. She’s giving us the sass that teenage girls have and the guitar is a big reminder that she’s actually talented and can play her own instruments (she can play piano and guitar). I like this CD cover better than Miley Cyrus’ cover for ‘Breakout’. Miley just looks like she’s trying too hard. One thing I can say about Demi’s cover though is that it looks a lot like No Doubt’s album cover for ‘Rocksteady’. But who says she can’t take any inspiration from them? Demi’s album will be out next month.

With her best friend Demi Lovato releasing her own album, you have to wonder when Selena Gomez is releasing hers. Selena has recently revealed to MTV that she doesn’t want to release her own album but rather wants it to be a band thing. She says “I’m going to be in a band — no Selena Gomez stuff. I’m not going to be a solo artist. I think that I don’t want my name attached to it.” I think that’s code for not having to suck center stage. She does admit that the whole music thing is new to her and that she’s determined to not bite off the styles of other artists.
After winning an Oscar, Jennifer Hudson goes back to her singing and we now have a preview of sorts for her debut album. The cover art for her self-titled album has just been revealed. Her album is set for release on September 30. Jennifer’s single ‘Spotlight’, which was written and produced by Ne-Yo and Stargate, is already out. Other rumored collaborators on the 26-year old American Idol alum include Akon, R. Kelly, John Legend, Jack Splash, Christopher ‘Tricky’ Stewart, Robin Thicke, Timbaland, T-Pain, The Underdogs and Diane Warren. That’s a lot of big name contributors. A list like that should have people expecting nothing but the best from her.

David Archuleta wasn’t able to attend his junior prom and it looks like he won’t be able to attend his senior prom too as the American Idol runner up has withdrawn from Murray High. Little D withdrew from his school during his run on the show but school officials have revealed that he hasn’t re-signed for his senior year which starts on August 25. It’s going to be tough for him to go to school anyway as he has to be on the road on the AI tour until September. It’s also being said that he’s going to be home schooled so he can work on his new album without having to worry too much about academic deadlines.

The Jonas Brothers are arguably the hottest thing since sliced bread. They’ve successfully brought back the boy band phenomenon, they sing, they act and they’re also really hot. And they just got even hotter as the band of brothers recently dropped the first single off their new album last week. ‘Burning Up’ also has a more dance and party feel than their previous stuff which should appeal past the tween audience. And if that’s not enough Jonas for you, they also released the video for the single not long after they released it on the radio. They’re feeding Jonas mania!

Well, she’s working on it….Melanie Brown of Spice Girls fame is upset because Eddie Murphy got her pregnant and now doesn’t give a crap about their daughter.
She says she is writing a song about him that will be featured on her upcoming album. Geez…what’s with these folks writing hate ballads these days? She says, “The working title on my new song is Beverly Hills C**k because that is what he is. He never bothers with his daughter. I mean, what kind of man is that?”
People, grow up and take responsibility already.
Check out the newest teen sensations Clique Girlz on the set of their music video for “The Difference.” Paris, Destinee, and Ariel share some never before heard info about their video and what can be expected from their debut album on Interscope Records.
EMBED the clip:
When you meet the Clique Girlz — sisters Paris and Destinee Monroe along with best friend Ariel Moore — you’ll be shocked to learn that such big voices can come out of such petite girls. It’s hard to believe that a twelve year old and two thirteen year olds can possess the stage presence and enthusiasm of seasoned performers, but the onstage persona and professionalism of the Clique Girlz make them appear as if they have been in the business for many years beyond what their age would allow.
The three girls joined forces at school five years ago and became inseparable friends. Driven by their love of music and dance they formed a group and began to wow industry professionals across the board ultimately landing Clique Girlz a deal with Interscope Records, a deal inked by Jimmy Iovine himself.
Having already opened for Jonas Brothers, The Click Five, and Backstreet Boys, the Clique Girlz are no strangers to the stage. One listen and it’s clear that this is no manufactured, teenybopper, bubble-gum group, but one whose music can appeal to all ages.

OK! is reporting that Ashlee Simpson will follow in the footsteps of her older sister Jessica and getting herself a reality TV show. This just has Joe Simpson’s, the dad and manager, name all over it. A source says that “Joe knows that no one cared about [Jessica Simpson] before her reality show, and he’s hoping a show for Ashlee will have the same effect.” A record industry insider adds that “She’s been struggling with record sales. Now that she’s really interesting again, a reality show could do wonders for her career. It’s a part of doing business for this family.” When Ashlee’s first reality show ran in 2004 with her first album dropping a month later, her album debuted at #1.

There’s only so much you can take of Mariah Carey’s diva antics until you decide to stop being mad and start to try to get even. The curvaceous diva has reportedly been unofficially placed on paparazzi blacklist after breaking unwritten fame game rules at a CD signing event last week. Mariah showed up two hours late, sprinted down the red carpet and wore sunglasses. The pap nation decided to unofficially boycott the singer. That means there will be no pictures, no coverage and ultimately, no love. It’s being said that their planning to ignore her as long as it takes to prove their point. I hope she doesn’t get it and that she plummet into obscurity.

Ashlee Simpson continues to pimp herself out by partnering up with teeny bopper mall store Wet Seal. The store will launch a new collection of tops designed by the singer in conjunction with her third studio effort ‘Bittersweet World’ and a major in-store and online nationwide promotion on April 22. It shouldn’t come as a surprise that Wet Seal will also be selling her CD in-store. When talking about the partnership, Ashlee says “I was inspired by so many fun, wonderful things as I was recording Bittersweet World and it’s been great to carry through those inspirations into these new shirt designs. I hope my fans love this album and rock out in these shirts!”
Amy Wienhouse is expected to appear in a Norwegian courtroom this week. The singer has to show up in court in Bergen on Friday to contest her drug arrest. Wino was arrested in Norway last year on marijuana charges which is the alleged reason why she was initially denied entry to the US.
On the bright side of things, Amy is still doing well. Her CD ‘Back to Black’ has benefited from a huge sales increase following this past week’s Brit Awards. It’s actually expected to sail back to the top spot of the charts! Congratulations Amy! Don’t let anything bring you down.
